Event Details

The UK UPA Careers Event is rapidly approaching on Tuesday 22 June 2010, sponsored by and held at Thomson Reuters.

As always, our careers event is designed to provide a forum where UX employers and candidates can meet. It is also an opportunity for Professional Development and networking.

At the heart of this year’s event will be ‘Speed dating’: how to find your perfect partner (employer or candidate)'.

The agenda:

6:30 – 6:45       Meet, greet and networking

6:45 – 7:15       Skills development: Personal Branding with Jill Downing

7:30 -  9:00       ‘Speed dating’: 3-minute interviews with potential employers

This is a chance for candidates to strut their stuff and perfect their personal branding. Over a 90-minute period, candidates will circulate the room, spending 3-minutes with a range of high profile organisations interested in hiring quality UX personnel.

We are pleased to have confirmed Amberlight, Electronic Ink, EMC Consulting, Flow Interactive, Foolproof, Futureheads Recruitment Ltd, Just Giving, Nokia, System Concepts, Thomson Reuters, Microsoft, SapientNitro, we:are:London, Webcredible and Zebra People who will all be recruiting and taking part in the speed-dating activity.

For those who are not taking part in the ‘speed dating’, there will be a networking area and UX Competency Board describing the skills in this our field, awaiting your comments and feedback.

We look forward to seeing you on the day! Remember to come prepared with your CVs, business cards, portfolio and 3-minute pitch.
